GENERAL
Hello and welcome to the Elliott Pool Construction 16m Ministock website. We are Chris and Nick Elliott who are in our second season of racing at Baypark.
The GuestBook and Forum are fully operational, so embrace them and add your posts! We have a new forum that requires a login. This means you either need to be a guest or a member (which means you have to sign up for a username and password). Don't be turned away by it, it means you can post in my forum, and any of the Gibbering.net forums. Its all good.
The photos spread throughout this site were mostly taken by Nick. You can download for free the ones on this site. If you want some more, send him an email (email link below).
Note; the headers on the other pages on this site are in the font "Showcard Gothic". If this font isn't on your computer, the headers will probably come up in arial or some other font. This is especially prone to happening on IMac's.
The 'Nicks Games' page is separate from the Ministock site and is a download/information page about games made by Nick.

MOST RECENT UPDATE
28/03/04
Almost an awesome nights racing. Chris went out in race 1 and had an ok race, Nick went out in race 2 and was doing well until he spun it on turn 2 on lap 7. The officials told him to stay where he was so he wasnt allowed to finish the race. The next race out, Nick was out again and blew everyone away to get second to Michelle Wymer (75m) who was having a good nights racing aswell. Chris went out last race, but the exhaust had troubles again and that set him back so he finished more to the middle of the grid. Chris also spun 2 people out, one being Jade Dyson of all people (that was an accident though).
It's too late tonight upload any new photos to the photos page, next update? And why hasn't anyone downloaded 1pships!?!

RECENT UPDATES
24/03/04
We had a few incidents the other night. The muffler came off in the 3rd race (2nd blue group race) and the engines poked which caused all sorts of problems. The temperature was off the clock and all the steam came up on the red light (this was Nicks second race) so that was that. On the positive side, Nick may have had the best race of his whole season. He was winning for a while, but the car let him down. Chris also had a good night bar car troubles, he spun 25m out on his second race (race 4).

We raced at paradise valley speedway on the friday then baypark on the saturday. By the end of it, we had a good weekend of racing (we ended up getting 5 races in each so thats 10 races in total) with minor repairs needed after rotorua. Don't have enough time to upload more images, will do for the next update. Also, if you havent noticed, the forums been down for quite a while. That should be resolved as soon as Peter Lewis (the guy that runs legion) gets his act together.

We're planning to race at rotorua on friday, then Baypark on saturday, which will be good.
Nick's finished another game (1p Ships) so check that out on the Nicks Games section.
Added a gradient effect to the nav bar, deperately trying to improve the look of the site. Also extended the banner right across the top, as opposed to being just in the middle.

We raced at Waikaraka Park last night. Chris went ok in 16m, but Nick was another matter. Nick was borrowing Aaron Staats car (51m) since Aaron's bought a new car (12a). Nick was going well in race 1 until the front right tyre blew out on turn 2. He skidded out towards the wall, when Aaron comes along with nowhere to go. Aaron ended up on the wall, Nick accused of deliberate hitting and wasn't allowed to race for the rest of the meeting. The officials up at Waikaraka had some wierd idea that starting the fast cars on turn 4, the slow cars next to turn 1, and the middle ones in the middle was smart. The fast ones got stuck behind the slow ones and caused chaos since they couldn't get past. All the mount cars started at the back so none of us did very well place wise. Theres some new pics aswell.

I sorted the legion guy out, so the forums back. However, a new web host is in order. Due to the unreliabllty of our current host Pearce, the site is often unavailable. I'm looking at a different development tool so I can upload to Legion again (the best service, but cant upload at the moment), so at the moment we're with both Tripod and Pearces. Tripod's our original host, but have ads and have proven to be unreliable themselves. Pearces servers is often down, so Legion is our best bet.

OLDER UPDATES
21/02/04
Due to a disagreement with the administrator of the Gibbering.net webhosting and Forum service etc, I have lost the forum. That means that we now have no forum, simply because the fulla in charge is a power hungry lunatic. So to those of you that bothered to even notice, the forum is now gone, and will be soon replaced with one hosted by a decent service, or if the other guy sorts himself out.

Just an update to show we're still alive. Our new forum is a bit different to the old one. For this one you need to be a member (which means you have to sign up for a username and password). Don't be turned away by it, it means you can post in my forum, and any of the Gibbering.net forums. Its all good.

Ministocks in paradise was rained off. And it never rained.
So we spent the day cleaning up Nicks Charade.

11/02/04
We've had 3 responses from our submission form saying for the site to stay. However, one response was particularly motivating, so here the site is again. Ministocks in paradise this coming weekend. Chris will probably do that meeting again (he did it last season). Not much news since last Baypark meeting got rained off, so not much happening at the moment. Got a new trailer for the car aswell. Got a new forum aswell. Its got posts in it, so go for it people!

School is looming once again, unfortunately (it starts on wednesday, 29/01/04). The "Ministocks in Paridise" Ministock stampede at Rotorua's "Paradise Valley" Speedway is also coming up (on the 14/02/04). The Kihikihi Ministock Stampede has been brought forward this year; it's this coming sunday! (1/02/04). We still don't know if we'll go to that yet, if we can even get in. We went last year, where Nick did all the races. If you are reading any of this, you had better have filled in the form on the entry page. If we don't reveive enough feedback from that, this site is on the way out. It consumes too much of my time to bother with if no-one even sees it (as what's the point of a website if no-one goes to it?). All the links to the pics work remember, so now for the few people that sent me emails saying they wanted to see them, now they can. Check the flash banner too! Work of Nick.

THE LINKS WORK!! This is because I spent 1 1/4 hours (from midnight to 1:15) adding a spiel to the photos ("Photo by NICK ELLIOTT" etc). I then spent a painstakingly long time uploading them all to my secret "I shouldn't have it" other tripod account, then linked each individual thumbnail to their respective photo. My point; APPRECIATE MY WORK!!! IT TOOK AGES! In other news, Nick's NCEA results came out today. No futher comment on that. Also divided the updates into Recent Updates (latest 5), then Older Updates lower on the page.

19/01/04
Well well well. Nick got a 7-day stand-down; AND FOR WHAT!!! His offense was "Driving in a dangerous manner"; *********!!! WHAT A JOKE! But I'd best not say too much about that, or they might add some more days to it.... In other news, the car now has a bent strut and of the 5 struts we have, NONE FIT PROPERLY! The derby went well in terms of "shopping"; we got 8 wheels from 2 derby cars. Our uncle Steven Elliott lasted quite long; he was put out just before they blocked it off on the front straight.

15/01/04
The Elliott family returned home from a holiday at Whangamata today (pic thumbnails available). Added thumbnails of newer photos. Nick IS going to find a decent file hosting service tonight.
|
10/01/04
We got our 4 races in tonight. Both of us spun on our last races, but Nick got hit by 13m head on. Nick kept racing for as long as he could with a flat tyre and the under-rider bar in the wheel, but since his steering was getting less and less, he had to pull to the infield. We're going on holiday for a few days as of tomorrow, so we don't have time to put some new photos on. The race log has been updated, but thats about all. The pic of the update is from earlier in the season, of Jade flooding Craigs motor.

06/01/04
Not much added except a new photo and a few thumbnails. Still no larger files; it can't be helped.
|
03/01/04
A good opportunity wasted tonight. Nick, in the blue group, shamefully spun on turn 2. Seeking to recover, he put it into first gear to turn around when he sees some car flying straight at him. He whacks it into reverse but BAM! Too late. Thats our work for the week. Some of these blue group drivers need to learn how to drive. This update is really just because the last update had a spaz. We had to take the downloads off again. We'll find somewhere to host them soon, along with the photos. Almost everything else should still be the same as last update though.

02/01/04
This meeting, there were 2 ministock races from each group. We decided to put Nick into the blue group for a while, just to get some track time. Chris had an awesome second race and pulled in a second, to Ben Finemore! Seems that the news reporters got it wrong through; apparently it was Nick who was racing (stated in a newspaper). We got 2 races last meeting, however the 2nd race was a disaster for most people. Our car dropped its driveshaft on the front straight, and Sheree Morrow (24m) rolled. The event was the first of three USA sprint car meetings. Later on in the season, there's 4 consecutive USA saloon car meetings. What a nightmare. STILL NO PHOTO LINKS!! We'll explain why; we haven't found a suitable file hosting service. Without one, we can't put any links. Not our fault. Also, FINALLY, there are downloads in the Nicks Games page! At last! Feel free to download them; they are virus free. Nick made them, so he would know. There's also a mailing list setup now; Nick will add people to a group in his email account to send emails to whenever he updates. Feel free to join to it. No catches.

Nick finally got some races in on saturday. Chris ended up smashing his finger and couldn't race anyway. Willy Kay said at the drivers briefing "...the Ministocks will get a guaranteed 2 races per group per meeting...". We'll see. There are a whole heap of thumbnail images on the images page, but they don't do anything. We haven't put the links on to bring the full sized images up yet. Came up with the "Pic of the Update" idea. The one this update is of Nick 3-wheeling around turn 4. There are still no downloads in the Nicks Games page.

07/12/03
General update. Added a few HTML objects to the site. Added a few pictures throughout the site, but didn't put any on the images page yet. Maybe at the next update? Fixed a few wording errors. Also fixed the cjb.net redirection; it had an error. Decided to ditch the poll; after adding it, it looked really bad, so we abandoned it.

06/12/03
Uploaded website to net. Fairly similar to old site. Alot of things missing where we're just trying to get the site on the net. Mostly images lacking. No counter or much other flashy HTML things. There are no download links in the Nicks Games page.
